Am I the only one that's thoroughly insulted that they use the word 'DIXIE' in their name ? Mr. President, I'm ashamed THEY were ever in Dixie. Their heart sure isn't. Why can't we demand a name change from them ? They along with Streisand and McGraw/Hill are perfect examples that money and fame go straight to your head when there's nothing else in it.

As much as I like newcon's answer (#20), yours is the winner.

Gee, piss of your base, the people who work for a living, and the expect them to GIVE you money... Amen! The DC (and their handlers) need to review Business Lesson 101A:
"You only make money off your friends. Your enemies will not do business with you."

All right. I was just briefly on Laura Ingraham mentioning the booing. She, of course, loved it.

I believe it was a fellow Freeper on the multitudinous threads back when the "unpleasantness" first happened.

I say...take the tickets and go. Hold up a Pro-Bush sign during the concert. Wear your Bush/Cheney shirt too. This is just a guess, but I'm thinking the rest of the crowd of new Dixie Chicks fans will be made of butch lesbians who will give you dirty looks.
I make this prediction because that's probably their new fan base.

You're probably right. What I think would be hilarious is if they tried to cross over to rock. They'd have similar results to Air America's tweak in format.

They'd have similar results to Air America's tweak in format.AA had a format-change? What did they step up to, ACTUAL trained monkeys as hosts?

Among the announcements made by the DJs was that they would be giving away tickets to the upcoming concert by the Dixie Chicks. So now promoters are sinking to the need to GIVE AWAY tickets for Ditzie Chix concerts?!!!
To: NotJustAnotherPrettyFace
Local radio stations always have contests to give away a certain number of concert tickets.
