Coulter doesn't know whether the dead husbands of the Jersey Girls were going to divorce them, nor if these women are happy that their husbands are dead. That doesn't stop her from speculating.

You're engaging in junior high school schoolyard logic here--"she started name-calling first, so I'll call her names." In other words, amateur thinking makes one think he or she can engage in the same tactics as their target and still look credible. I don't think that is necessarily the case; certainly not in this case.
I know if I were even teaching a child about how to respond or react to someone who was doing something considered inappropriate, I wouldn't tell her "Do the same thing they're doing!"
