Someone who equates the assassination of an totally innocent person (their own son, no less) with that of a inhuman, monstrous thug has quite a few screws loose.

That's not enough. This thug was a "sick animal" just like the excrement that killed the girl at Clemson. That people actually support him for political reasons is abhorrent, and THAT is what I'd call Willing Suspension of Disbelief.
