By Michael Abramowitz Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, June 8, 2006; A05
OMAHA, June 7 -- Continuing his campaign to build support for comprehensive immigration legislation, President Bush on Wednesday emphasized that illegal immigrants who want to stay here should learn English and demonstrate that they are committed to assimilating into American culture.
After visiting a community center where immigrants learn English, Bush coupled a call for strict border enforcement with a plea that newcomers be treated compassionately.

His problem still is that he isn't emphasizing kicking out illegal immigrants!!!
President Bush could stop this invasion of illegals in a minute - if he wanted to.
He obviously does not want to. Why?
That's because as a nice as it sounds like as a concept, the country doesn't want 12 million Elians.
So what was your previous incarnation on FR?
"His problem still is that he isn't emphasizing kicking out illegal immigrants!!!"
He isn't going to. He backs amnesty and the Senate bill. Period.
And if they won't, what's he gonna do about it?
How sweet (NOT).......taxpayers not only get to FUND these criminals their own personal employment agency, we get to FUND English & Civics classes for them also.
Start with not printing anything in Spanish like our absentee ballots or voicemail in English only? English ONLY in the USA!
The Naturalization Oath can be taken in either Spanish or English in the Rio Grande Valle, Presidente Bush!
Actually, yes we do.
Beats me. I've never seen someone able to take both sides like Bush. He wants a stronger border patrol then asks us to play nice with the criminals among us. Make them learn English, yea, that should fix everything. He is selling out my granchildren's heritage for his globalist agenda. And no, I will not forgive him for that, or forget.
Have you noticed how tiny the print has become on anything you buy these days? Even frekin laundry detergent. Because they have to make room for English and Spanish. If you can't read English, you plain don't belong here!
The President said this?
Pandering for votes. "Votes" are the single most important thing to career politicians because they equal power, money, and notoriety. Even though he himself cannot get re-elected, he knows it is encumbent upon him to get Republican 'votes' for the upcoming elections in Nov., and to help get another Republican elected for President. He wants the illegal votes and the votes from their 'legal' friends and families who are here, and the hispanic population in general.
Not to mention the White House website in Spanish!
