a path to citizenship without going through the regular channels and let them jump ahead of people who are trying to become legal residents and citizens by following our laws

And just where did you read this? Not in that article. He has clearly said that according to his plan, the illegals would have to go through the same vetting procedures as legals (criminal background checks, employment certifications, etc.), but they would have to pay a fine for breaking the law and would be placed in line behind those who are legally coming in.

the same vetting procedures as legals

Not true, under the Senate plan the agents are limited to checking only what the illegal alien wrote on their application and subject to a $10,000 fine if they explore deeper.

Of course I didn't read it in that article. I read it in the senates bill, you know, the one they sent to the house, I read it in his speech outlining the path to citizenship. How else do you think they are going to get citizenship? By applying and waiting for it like everyone else? No, they are to be put on a fast track. Get your head out of your a** and quit being a blind follower of you elected officials. Demand they do what is right, and that is to enforce our existing laws.

As far as having to go through the same vetting procedures this is BS too. Where did YOU read that?

Send the law breaking parasites back home, where ever that is and make them apply from their home countries. NO AMNESTY. Bush and the senate need to take a constitution lesson for it is obvious they have never read the part about protecting our soveriengty.

I'm sure that the person who's applied for citizenship and going through the 'same' vetting procedures, but waiting in Haiti, instead of already being in America, working in American and receiving American benefits....would agree with you. You think?

but they would have to pay a fine for breaking the law and would be placed in line behind those who are legally coming in.

And just how fair would that be? They remain in the US, living under our laws, working at American jobs, living an American lifestyle, while those who have obeyed the law are in their own countries waiting. No, it's NOT fair and it's NOT a decent punishment for breaking the law.

The ONLY way they should be able to apply for citizenship is by going back to their own countries and getting in line behind those who have been doing it the right way all along. Otherwise, we reward lawbreakers and punish those who obey the law.
