June 7, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Conservative rabble-rouser Ann Coulter created an uproar among 9/11 victims' families yesterday after she charged in her new book that a group of "self-obsessed" politically active widows are enjoying their husbands' deaths.
The razor-tongued blond polemicist made unflattering remarks about the high-profile widows who liked to call themselves the "Jersey girls." In Coulter's latest book, "Godless," she calls them "harpies" and the "Witches of East Brunswick."

Harsh was the fact that the 9/11 families raped NY tax payers, public charity, and even the feds for several hundred million dollars while 50% of the volunteers who worked like rented mules to save their sorry-ass family members can't even get the insurance companies to pay one-thin-dime to pay for the physical and mental after effects.
ANOTHER SMELLY TROLL!
I would not have used the same language Coulter uses (which is a little strident and needlessly inflammatory, IMO) but I agree with her sentiments 100%.
These women have been propping up the corpses of their husbands to further their cynical political aims and no one has dared to point out their disgusting charade because of their victim status.
Using one's dead spouse as a prop to spew partison political rhetoric, and then hiding behind the corpse to disallow any criticism is far more disgusting than anything Coulter wrote in her book.
Niles Fraiser's parents. : )
I agree that she went overboard; at the same time, not all her points are invalid. The "Jersey widows" were treated very well with millions in taxpayer dollars because their spouses were sadly trapped and murdered in a burning building. Contrast this with the families of our Vietnam and Iraqi war dead who got nothing by comparison; the Oklahoma City bombing dead and countless murder and rape victims who get no compensation whatsoever. My problem is their apparent total lack of gratitude and there always seems to be a constant demand for more on the basis that their losses are somehow "unique" (I don't put the fire, police and Pentagon families in this category of complainers). Now, its that they want a billion dollar memorial museum at the site of the WTC and a gargantuan commemorative wall at the crash site of Flight 93, costing upwards of $100 million; a touching commemorative statue would suffice nicely, they certainly work wonders at Gettysburg. Both memorials were sold on the basis of "the American people will fund and build them with private contributions" which turned out to be a falsehood - they can't even get New York residents to check off a dollar on their taxes to help build it. Private monies raised so far are about $100 mil for the WTC museum and $7 mil for the Flight 93 site. So where do they go -- to the federal government, of course, and even if Congress caves on this, it will still not be enough. I also understand that they also don't want any distinctions made between the employees trapped at the WTC and the first response teams, who were the real heroes of that day. No wonder people are tired of this group, although it doesn't justify much of what Ann said.
Me too. The Jersey girls were the first to undo the unity our country had after 9/11. They had to make it personal and rebel rouse the liberals into playing the blame game and rev up the phony 9/11 Jamie Gorelick investigative commission.
Thanks Ann, for calling it like it is!
Yes, they did. You must not have been watching.
The more "outraged" the outcries, generally the more accurate the hit. The fact the these is an explosion in the liberal press over this tells me the Ann is spot on in her assement of the coven.
That's just ignorant.
There aren't many of us around here, but I agree with your post.
Coulter ramps up her outrageousness in each book. I was going to say she'll next be advocating murder, but she's already done that by calling for a couple of the Supreme Court justices to be poisoned.
Your just too damn wimpy for Anne. What we'd call a Country Club conservative.
Ann Coulter at end of interview: "Where's Katy? Did she leave or something?
ROFLMAOPIMP
There are going to be some oldtimers who read the newstories and end up with a bad impression of her. Others are going to go to the web, check things for themselves and become converts.
Other than the fact that she's 100% right about those effite, boorish, mean-and-nasty women, what's your problem? Taking a break from DUmmieLand, are you?
Exactly!
You have to be pathetically desperate for attention to convert the death of a "loved" one into currency that will buy notice from an anti Bush agenda based msm.
well stated
These women have been off the radar for months. Why on earth did Coulter feel she had to get her rocks off by attacking them with criticisms that, frankly, sound like she's describing herself?
Now, they get to come back on HARDBALL and every other venue that will have them to rightly express outrage for Coulter's attacks.
At some point, even the true believers are going to realize that Coulter is nothing but an attention-seeker who doesn't care if she paints conservatives as a bunch of gap-toothed idiots.
Nice! Thanks for the link. I'd seen snippets of transcripts, but not the whole interview.
