June 7, 2006 -- WASHINGTON - Conservative rabble-rouser Ann Coulter created an uproar among 9/11 victims' families yesterday after she charged in her new book that a group of "self-obsessed" politically active widows are enjoying their husbands' deaths.
The razor-tongued blond polemicist made unflattering remarks about the high-profile widows who liked to call themselves the "Jersey girls." In Coulter's latest book, "Godless," she calls them "harpies" and the "Witches of East Brunswick."

I'm a fan, but Ann needs to get herself a Bowflex and some Creatine.

"She is not considered a serious person by most Americans, and lots of conservatives."
Nah. Telling the truth about the Marxist swine isn't, you know, "serious." Is it?

Malkin is one of the Conservatives who believes that citizenship is secondary to race. Or perhaps she's just trying to replay WWII.

"And let's not forget the notorious New York Magazine cover several years after 9/11 which featured several widows dressed like hookers with the headline, "They're back and they're ready to boogie.""
Oh yes.
Nearly forgot that one.
To: Enchante
I agree. Ann's audience is college kids and the "shout" media, not reasoned discourse.

Thanks! I was a little impressed with myself, too ... usually statements from liberals just pass like broadcast static, but that one jumped out at me.

You have to admit, he's been more affective than W has.Absolutely. Freudian slips sometimes are effective.
Buchannan's speech in 1992 probably removed at least two generations of Jews from the GOP. I know some (1992 GOP delegates) who simply changed parties then.

Speaking of cranks, do you actually have anything to say? Your opinion of me is beside the point. No, it is precisely the point you 'ol Ann Basher you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey_GirlsThe Jersey Widows testified for hearing led by congresswoman Cynthia McKinney on July 22, 2005.
Well, that makes sense now.
And, here they are.........
The Jersey Girls (Kristin Breitweiser, Patty Casazza, Mindy Kleinberg, and Lorie Van Auken).
Not sure if the order matches the photo.

I just believe too much is being made by both sides over one or two paragraphs. Not good enough cake crumb. If you're going to try to placate Ms. Sinkspur you will have to completely slam AC and her entire body of work.

I think there are many here who just don't understand Ann's acerbic sense of humor. And I think her humor permeates her writings and comments. It's a poke-in-the-eye style that is meant to be over-the-top, it begs comment. Exactly. She's a polemicist. Polemic is an art form, and Ann is the greatest living polemic writer, as far as I can tell. It is a total mystery to me why so many people can't seem to appreciate the intrinsic value of any good polemic, but that's how it is, sadly.
Thank you for the rational and accurate analysis. As to the mystery of the lack of appreciation, sadly, rhetoric and polemics are no longer considered proper subjects in our anemic educational system.

Darling Kristin Breitweiser is the kind of lovely, and somewhat untouched private school girl I used to "frequent" back in the 60's ........ tartan plaid skirt, Oxford white shirt, knee socks, and a quite fine tan on those well-shaped swimmer's thighs.
Nice looking she is, .......... but this young lady could use an attitude adjustment. I volunteer.
