A buddy of mine was from Philly, a steel-worker. He tried to explain something about Philly cheese-steaks. As I understand it, a philly cheese-steak must use Cheese-Whiz to be authentic.

You buddy is wrong. My buddy, who was born in Philly and raised on cheese steaks said that a real philly cheese steak uses Velvetta. If The Great One, Mark Levin, is lurking, perhaps he can settle the issue.

Never!!!

Real neighborhood joints don't even have Cheese-Whiz or Velveeta. You get Provolone or American... And always "with".

ROFLMAO you guys are too fuuny!

Original Philly cheesesteaks use American cheese. I take mine 'wit'. I know, I'm from Philly area. Cheesewhiz was used by Generation X.

Next thing you guys will be saying... "I have a buddy from Philly and he says Scrapple is made from only the finest cuts off a pig."

Velveeta, Cheeze-whiz or American is all the same pseudo cheese. It would seem provolne or sharp cheddar would be better.
