Dixie's Click on WUMB : As mentioned here in the last update, although local and national country radio stations may not be helping them much lately, but that isn't stopping Dixie Chicks from claiming a third # 1 album in their career and finding stations on the elsewhere on the dial who are more than happy to jump on the bandwagon. According WUMB 91.9FM's program director Brian Quinn, the UMass station is playing "Everybody Knows" and "I Hope" tracks. The station also hopes to have them live in the studio when their tour pulls into Boston in late July. Clear Channel's progressive talker WKOX AM 1200 is also promoting the TD Banknorth Garden show by the most successful female group ever with a ticket giveaway.

The Dixie Chicks have changed their music style from singing Country Western to singing The Blues!

I just went online to try for tickets at the Atlanta show, which went on sale 6/3. You can still get floor seats, which normally sell out within minutes for a group that's popular enough to play a venue that size. Not looking good for the promoters.

The best concert I have ever been to was Bruce in 85--Born in the USA tour. He is here in DSM this weekend and they are still advertising ticket availability. The DCs will be here in August and I expect they will have problems selling out.

They are so going to end up in the hole to Sony on this, and those extra dates in Canada will not be pulling their asses out of the fire.

The DC's are now driving pick-up trucks for Hateful Howard (Dean).

I have not heard either of our local San Diego county country staitions (KSIN and US Country)play the Chicks for a few years (and would have dumped them had I heard).

Looking at #2 on the Billboard list is my daughter's favorite album, Disney's "High School Musical". I think I'll go out and buy another few copies, and suggest you all do the same!

I would hazard a guess that the Dixie Chicks' album will drop from #1...the initial "thrill" (so to speak) will be gone.
