If it looks like a duck...walks like a duck

Duck and Geese Differences

Ducks and Geese are both aquatic birds, hanging out in lakes and ponds. How are they different from each other?

Like just about any animal classification, there's a bit of arbitrariness over where the lines are drawn at any given time. Between ducks and geese, the line is mostly about size. Geese are large - think Canadian Geese -

Ducks are small, like mallard ducks -

Ducks usually eat fish and insects, while geese usually eat grains and grasses. However there are always exceptions to those rules. If you collect down, goose down has less odor than duck down does. Geese tend to have more webbing between their toes than ducks do.

"Likely" means to assign a probability, which gets you into "more likely," "less likely," "is it 60 percent likely"

That's a bit of a Rumsfeld type statement. I like it. Direct.
It's strikes me the press (although I admit this is only the maybe 2nd of these briefings with Tony that I've read), are asking a bit different questions, they are being more respectful of Tony, and asking better questions.

***Geese are large - think Canadian Geese - ***

I'd rather NOT think about Canada geese, we have them in our neighborhood and they are NOISY when they fly in too early in the morning. By the way, it's Canada geese, not Canadian geese. I suspect the Canadians took their citizenship away from them.

Strange, though, since we have the American eagle, not an America eagle. Who knows?

They should have recruited Tony for that position long ago. He exposes the press for the mindless, shallow, group-thinking idiots they are.

It would do a world of good for today's "reporters" (cough) to go back and watch and hear video and audio tapes of former press conferences, from a few decades ago, when actual QUESTIONS (hello?) were asked of the press secretary and president.

I refer to the usual WH press briefings, which have degenerated into bouts of "How many times can the reporters put the same theories and attacks into fake question form?"

Tony is the best secretary ever. He can think on his feet and is not snared by the devious presstitutes. How lucky we are to have him on our side.

Well, I did love ARi!

But really, really thankful for Tony - I cannot believe how belligerent and rude - and stupid - Gregory can be. It should not be allowed - Tony needs to let him know he wont deal with incivility - wanna be a snot - sit still and not get called on. (Helen simply needs her courtesy pass revoked. She's no longer an official WH reporter and she definitely isn't courteous.)

I am wondering if "W" didn't want to replace McClellen long ago with Tony but, because of Tony's illness, waited?

I think "W"'s and the pubbies would have been a lot stronger had McClellen been put out to pasture a LONG time ago.

Tony would not have been available any sooner. We have to take life as it is......and for now Tony is certainly the best. He's just so calm and classy.

Nothing makes a lib develop mouth-froth quicker than an intelligent, quick-witted, and at the same time, affable - conservative/

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers with the Canadian Geese thing. While you are correct, most people around here call them that. I wonder if people in Quebec call the bird 'le Canada l'oie or l'oie de le Canada. I guess if you really want to get technical about it, the name for this creature is actually 'Branda canadensis'. :-)
