IMO, it comes down to a matter of competency

like i said *COPS* haven't learned. i've carried my sig with one in the pipe, and i've carried my 1911 cocked and locked. when i hunt, i've got one in the chamber in my long gun, or 6 in the wheel gun. every cop i have met- especially the pricks that do the "safety inspections" at three different local PDs that have no clue what safe handling is. the cops typically will play with, and look at the weapon with their finger on the trigger, and even dry fire it- without the idiot checking the chamber!
i understand gun safety, most cops don't.

see my post 26. i have no problem with competent people carrying with a round chambered. i just don't think cops should.
