Catch this one from The Star.....

Batasar said the synopsis of accusations provided by the Crown included allegations that the group wanted to “storm the Parliament buildings” and “take politicians hostage.” It also indicated that the CBC building in downtown Toronto was a potential target.

Now I'm confused. Who's side are these people on?

Dunno, I'm torn on this one too:

Part of me says a sudden massive explosion might be too quick & painless for many at the CBC ....

... but another part says the red Star's #1 Yonge St. headquarters is only mere blocks away and, if they're in the neighborhood anyway ...

I did not know that there's a position in Canada called "Head Prime Minister" that someone could aspire to be. Does that mean that Prime Minister Harper reports to the Head Prime Minister?

I heard this on our ABC news this morning. The Canadian interviewed pointed out that such crimes could bring no more than a 10 year prison sentence. What a terrible legacy 12 years of Liberal rule has left. This deserves nothing less than life in prison.

Lawyer Gary Batasar says the allegations against his client are very serious and include his personal threat against the prime minister.

Steven Chand is also accused of plotting to storm and bomb various buildings, he says.

"Steven Chand." How very Canadian. This same dirtbag was going by the name Abdul Shakur until the terrorists and their media enablers decided to un-Islamicize him in the interests of his defence.

Here is a profile of the creep by a Muslim (of course) reporter for the pro-terrrorist Toronto Star.

Here are the key points:

Chand attended Salaheddin Islamic Centre on Kennedy Rd. two or three times a week, according to mosque member Mohamed Ally.

"He's innocent," Ally said, adding that Chand visited schools to help troubled youths find Islam. "He's a very humble, peaceful brother."

Attique said Chand had been on welfare and...

The piece's author is "Heba Aly". But hey, "Steve" aka Abdul Shakur never said anything like "jihad." He had the three tons of Ammonium Nitrate because he got a good deal on it and wanted to invest the money he made on welfare in a good business.

This deserves nothing less than life in prison.

The bail hearings start on Monday..............

The accused appeared before the court in separate groups. Of the 15 who appeared Tuesday, 14 will return to court Monday.

It would make a mockery of our sense of survival if they did.

It would make a mockery of our sense of survival if they did.

Have Canadians got any sense of survival? I had my doubts. But then you did show Paul Martin, the Peter Lorre of 21st Century Statesmanship, the door, so maybe there's hope in the Northlands.

Here's a couple more gems about Steve and his crew:

One suspect — 43-year-old Qayyum Abdul Jamal — gave sermons at a local mosque that were "filled with hate" against Canada, a Muslim leader who knew Jamal told the AP.

Canadian police say there is no evidence the suspect group had ties to al Qaeda, but describe its members as sympathetic to jihadist ideology. Officials are concerned that many of the 17 suspects were about 20 years old and had been radicalized in a short amount of time.

CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers reports Chand (Abdul Shakur if you've been paying attention -C18F), even before his arrest, had developed a reputation as a pied piper of sorts, delivering anti-Canadian sermons at a local mosque. Some have told Bowers he used his position as a volunteer at the mosque to turn disenchanted Muslims into believers of his radical brand of Islam.

Funny how different the story is when the reporter's just a lib, not a muz.

Then. there's what Batasar (the terrorists' lawyer) says. You read this and tell me if he's threatening Harper:

There's an allegation apparently that my client personally indicated that he wanted to behead the prime minister of Canada," attorney Gary Batasar said. "It's a very serious allegation. My client has said nothing about that."

Batasar, speaking outside the courthouse, said the charges were based on fear-mongering government officials.

"It appears to me that whether you're in Ottawa or Toronto or Crawford, Texas, or Washington, D.C., what is wanting to be instilled in the public is fear," he said.

He also suggested that Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who expressed happiness at the arrests, should "keep out of the case."

Nice prime minister you got there. Wouldn't want anything to happen to 'em, effendi.

By the way, the three metric tonnes of AN that Steve and this Religion of Peace® crew had was treble what the USA equivalent, Timothy McVeigh, used to blast the Murragh building in Oklahoma City and kill 168 unsuspecting people.

Whatever you say about these fine Canadians, they sure didn't think small... they had plans as big as all Ontario.

Source: the fear-mongering Right Wingers over at CBS News.

Note that the MSM did this same sick de-islamicization of jihadis with John Walker Lindh (really Suleyman al-Faris) and José Padilla (really Abdullah al-Muhajir).
