I agree. No problem with control here. Temptation, at times, but no follow through. Same with several friends of mine (they all seem to be traditional Christians -- big surprise).
No one said it was easy! It takes conviction, strength of character, appreciation of the value of virtue to do the right thing. And, as you note, it usually takes belief in God and knowing that "as you sow, so shall you reap" is a natural law.
I know the difference in my own life of what it's like to give in to sinful desires, and what's it's like to restrain them. One way is a path of darkness, the other a path to light.
