You know I think its pretty clear that in the old testament there is Biblical mandate to take care of the Alien. In fact for all we know Jesus, Mary , and Joesph might have entered Egypt illegally when fleeing. Again, the Holy Spirit decided not to inform us on Egyptian Provinces and particular immigration laws. Its does appear that aliens from other countries and kingdoms are wandering all over the place and the OT and the New Testament command Kindness to them. Again , I am not sure If God is going to be well pleased
I guess that ones reason I find praying for the House Bill passage and similar proposals kinda of weird.
Its like praying
"Dear Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary Please help the bill pass that will deport or starve 12 million(without exception) men, woman, and children back over the border. Even those that have been here for 20 years, and whom we have benefited by their labors. Thank you Jesus for keeping our Country wealthy, Healthy, and Strong and for reminding me that the law against crossing the border must be upheld at all cost and all those that violate it must be punished without mercy. For Man was made for the law and to worship it.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Pray for US AMEN"

Every nation has the right to protect their sovereignty but that is a matter of men not GOD. I would be VERY reluctant to pray for the punishment of people that have done nothing but move to another location for a better life. My parents were raised in the depression and were in the Oklahoma dust bowl. They like thousands of "OKIES" went to California and were turned away at the border because Californians didn't want "aliens" in their beautiful state.

I can appreciate that you have a deep and fervent faith. I can even see that you approach this from a deep sense of humanity.
Were this Joseph and Maria and Jose arriving singularly on a jackass, no-one would even notice. But when 1/5th of the population of Mexico arrives uninvited it becomes an invasion.
Yes I agree conditions are deplorable in Mexico for the "poor." But if Mexico is allowed to export it's failure to care for it's citizens to us, there will never be any pressure for them to improve.

Firs,t leave aside your false claim that anti-illegal immigrant mean being anti-immigrant. My legal immigrant wife is more strongly against illegal immigration than I am, and there is a good reason why: Catering to illegal immigration is a slap in the face to legal immigrants who played by the rules and jumped through the hoops to get here. It is unfair and unjust engage in such favoritism to lawbreakers.
"You know I think its pretty clear that in the old testament there is Biblical mandate to take care of the Alien. "
We take care of one million 'Aliens' legally in this country by letting them immigrate, that is more than any other country on earth. Our immigration system is far easier and more generous than other catholic nations, including particularly that hpyocritical nation, Mexico.
There is no biblical mandate nor is it Catholic church teaching to support law-breaking.
