No what this is is a wake-up call to American. The danger is the not on the southern border, it's up north. Those 6,000 National Guardsmen needs to be reassigned to patrol the Canadian border. Instead of tracking down people looking for work they need to be on the lookout for people looking to blow us up. Who knows what's been flowing back and forth across that border since 9/11.

I've never been to Mexico, so I have no idea what border security there is really like. I can imagine, though. I've been in and out of Canada many times over the years. I'm not saying that security at the northern border is perfect and doesn't need additional help, but I feel pretty good about it, based on personal experience. Especially with the customs agents on the Canada side.

Canada, even under the despicable Paul Martin, fought terrorism and continues to while Mexico is the home of narco-terrorism.
