Grrr
and sorry for all the typos
Hellery says FEMA should never have been part of Homeland Security
She calls FEMA a step child
Well...Harry Reid up talking about some poor girl in Searchlight...
jeez louise...He spends 5 minutes complaining that nothing is getting done in the Senate...so he rolls out some made up story to bore us all with...blech
The only thing worse than Harry Reid is the tag team match up of Reid and Durbin. This tune about all of the wasted time in the senate is so tedious.
Senator Coburn is putting some truth and reality into the "stem cell" debate.
I really like Coburn, but, like Sessions, he gets very little TV time...so is not known very well..
Here is an analysis of Hamdan that is more in line with my thinking as opposed to that of Andy McCarthy, who is nevertheless, hugely intelligent:

Hah, Coburn basically tells Durbin to shut up because he doesn't want to play political games. I love Tom Coburn. Durbin tried to imply that Coburn was going to be selective in his requirement of sunshine. Obviously he doesn't know Coburn very well.
I heard Coburn say that....Durbin thwarted...yippee!
Okay..now I am going to read the link you provided..bbl
This is breaking, broadly, into two camps. Camp One: Start with the UCMJ and pare away as little as possible, giving the terrorist as many rights as you possibly can making it virtually impossible to prosecute any of them (Linseed's position). Camp Two: validate the procedures the President has been using with only such tweaks as you might think necessary to get past Breyer and Kennedy (the Ted Olson, Dell'Orto and Bradbury position).
I read that column...and it makes more sense than what I made of McCarthy's yesterday...but, I have a headache (great excuse, huh?)...so will read it again later...
Well...that makes it easier...Lindseed's make no sense...and I got the impression that the panelists he tried to explain it to yesterday, were not anymore impressed with it than we are...
I really think Lindsey tries TOO hard...and in doing so...he tries to bee too cute by half.
This is a deadly serious subject..and we don't need for he or any Congresscritter to use is just to feed their egos.
What I found most interesting in the hearing yesterday..was when the Assistant Attorney General kept saying, over and over, that NEVER in the history of this country, with all of the wars we have fought, forgeign and domestic...
Have we EVER needed to "change" the policies that have been working.
And, I find that this case, this war, in particular is the WRONG time to mess with procedures that have been working just fine, thank you very much.
OOPSY...I forgot to add...that we know that the reason for all of these hearings is the SCOTUS decision, which was BAD.
I just wonder, if they ignored the law that Graham and McCain passed last year...or did it CAUSE this stupid decision some how...otherwise, why NOW, is the SCOTUS so intent to change something that never has been a problem for over 200 years??
And I would ask the further question why now does the SCOTUS feel inclined into meddling with the conduct of a war? In all honesty, I question not just the reasoning (if that's what you can call it) of the 5 Justices, but their motives as well.
Yes...I would say that your question is the most important and urgent...in that, we are having a hard enough time with this enemy...we do NOT need our highest court to be thwarting or best efforts, during war, to keep the US safe...
And, we are NOT doing it by beheading people...my gosh, I have heard that Gitmo is better surroundings than 99% of America's prisons.
Biden alert
Thanks
Bah..thanks for the warning...LOL
Mo1, I forgot to ask you how you are feeling....I saw yesterday that you posted that you haven't been feeling well.
I am sorry to hear that...is it a cold, flu?..too many kids??(lol)
