You are wrong. For example inter-lata 411, when needing an out of area listings, dial the area code for the area you wanted + 555-1212 and you'd get an operator to get you a phone number for out of area phone numbers.
555 numbers are reserved by the phone companies for their use. That's why movies always quote 555 numbers, so the smart alecks won't be calling real people if they choose to the call the numbers.
777 is usually good on slot machines.
