"On March 14, a U.S. military official in Baghdad familiar with the Watt probe finally responded to Ghosh. According to the official, the probe concluded that the civilians were in fact killed by Marines and not by an insurgent's bomb" Everyone in Haditha, including everyone in Kilo Co. and the 3rd Battalion knew they were killed in a firefight on Nov 19th. Kilo Co. and the 3rd battalion discovered the error in the press release on Nov. 21, 2005. Since the mayor and his entouage of clowns, including bozo the lawyer, talked to Capt McConnell shortly afterward, regarding the incident, Time is full of BS.
Kilo Co. corrected their reports and the battalion ajutant simply failed to issue a correction to Camp Blue Diamond in Ramadi. The jihadi pack in Haditha knew this, and they knew this would put wings on there BS. If Lt Col Johnson had a corrected report, this would have been simply a matter of the jihadi says vs. the MArine says.

to answer your question, Marines were found innocent of wrong doing in another incident, in another city, not Haditha (sp)
but back to this event, I wonder why this budding journalist didn't get shot by the Marines? I mean, if they were shooting everyone in sight, you'd think they would get this guy too.
Thanks, I've been out of the loop a bit. You're right, you'd think they'd make sure to shoot this guy. My guess is that his film was staged (fake).

"Time solicited this story."The jihadis that conjured up this story worked for Time. Time's cameraman was at the scene also.

It's nice to see your positive pictures of our soldiers.
God help the people of Iraq if we cut and run. My worst fear is a 'rat Congress cutting the $$ for the war as they did in Vietnam, leading to millions of deaths.

That was about another incident. There was collateral damage from the air strike they called in - but the Marines were absolved from committing any crime.

"You notice in the article that they conducted their interviews by email because of the danger going to Haditha from Baghdad. "Probably just didn't want to loose his head during the interviews.

You can bet the house that some damn fool liberal Dem will excuse this 21 murderous assault and blame it on Bush-Cheney and thereafter say that Iraq is now soooooo violent that naturally our military is up to its eyeteeth in violence against civies and now is the time (ala Kerry) to withdraw our troops. They just cannot be trusted, you know, those old wasscallyyyy Marines. Don't you just love the unpatriotic MSM and its apologists in the Dem Party??

I agree that Time solicited this story. I believe I read that this Iraqi (so-called) journalist had been in jail, and I'd be willing to bet he is an insurgent. If our Marines were on a rampage, why wasn't he shot when he came outside? Also, it has been reported elsewhere that a 12 year old girl said 'she was getting ready for school but was waiting for the roadside bomb to go off.' Our government or military officials need to be questioning Time employees to see how well they have their story coordinated. I don't allow Time or Newsweek in our home, because I don't believe half they write. Howard Fineman is such 'girly boy' I can't stand to listen to him on television. Have you ever noticed how 'sissyish' some of these left-wing journalists are? Take a look at Fineman, Michael Duffy, Joe Conason, Gene Lyon, Sidney Blumenthal, and David Corn...none of them look like a Marine!

The whole incident smells like rotten fish or is it rotten Liberals?

"If the Marines are indeed guilty of an atrocity, they had the ill fortune to have committed their crime in the worst possible place: outside the front door of a budding Iraqi journalist and human-rights activist."
That should tell you something, Sherlock Reporter!!! This guy is very likely a jihadist and nothing he says can be trusted. Yeah, and just how likely is it that an 'atrocity' just happened to be committed right in front of a guy like this??? And he just happened to photograph everything, just as the jihadists in Haditha had been releasing DVDs of THEIR atrocities just about every day in the marketplace..... yeah, and TIME conducts their rigorous (sic) investigation by email, so we really KNOW that they have trusted and reliable sources.... yeah, right! Everything about this case stinks, and I sure hope our investigators are onto every possible jihadist trick in the book. Even if they exhume the bodies it would not determine anything unless they found non-US bullets..... it's all to easy for the jihadists to have obtained a couple of US weapons with ammo, either in-country or from their Palestinian comrades who were well-supplied by Comrade Clinton. It's hard to imagine what physical evidence there could be that can be relied upon after the whole "crime scene" has been under control of the jihadists since Nov. 19. I don't see how any Marine should face legal jeopardy in such circumstances without a confession and/or testimony from other Marines. The jihadists are always looking for ways to set up propaganda cases.

"Just wondering why this guy waited untill last year to start his organization (Hammurabi Organization for Human Rights and Democracy)." An article in here yesterday said that this guy has been arrested by the U.S. military twice, he's linked to terrorists. If true, he was probably in jail, and that's where he got his idea to form a human rights organization. Can you imagine our own military believing this guy, knowing that he's been linked to terrorism and arrested for it? Insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It's almost as though The MSM and their DemocRAT comrades are trying to turn Iraq into "another Vietnam.
Made a few corrections. Hope you don't mind. ;)
