"President Bush will be well regarded by history"
It's good to know you will be among those writing those words about this great president.
Presidents achieve greatness on the world arena.
We may have differences with this president in regard to spending priorities, but I can't think of any president that has been historically downgraded because he spent too much - possibly LBJ.
As a historian perhaps you could explain how presidents are judged for greatness.
It varies depending on the historian. Each one looks at different issues. Since my area of focus is military history, then any books I write about President Bush would focus on the WOT.
Of course since a good number of historians are off in left field, there will be plenty who write nothing but trash about him and it has already started.
Last semester, one of the books I had to read, Parallax Visions, the author went back in 2003 and added a new introduction where he bashed Bush on every page.
- Bush didn't win the popular vote so he isn't really President.
These are just the ones I remember off the top of my head.
This goes on and on for page after page. I almost tossed the book out the window but finished reading the crap and got a nearly perfect grade in the class.
