"He honestly has tried with all him might and keeps fighting for it. If the next President loses faith, I won't fault Dubya."

If Washington tried his best but was defeated by the British, he would not have been blamed either. He also wouldn't have been great.

If Lincoln appeased the south, his place in history would not have been cemented.

If Reagan negotiated and compromised with the Soviet Union, he would be just like Jimmy Carter.

GWB will not made an enduring mark, especially if Iraq and Afghanistan return to the muslim pathology that is their likely destiny. His vision is one of Big Government. He still has time, but he will likely not be among the greatest of presidents by a longshot.

I think he will. IMHO being the only Pres in the last 20 years to openly try will me a huge plus. Carter screwed up with Iran, Reagan messed up in Leb, Bush 1 lost it when he called on Iraqis to stand up and abandoned them, Clinton with his...'umm I'l bomb sometimes'? No Dubya stood and deleivered. No one else can say the same.

You seem more than willing to engage in speculation when it suits you, and you can make a negative prediction about President Bush, whether it makes sense or not.....
