I have to admit, that having grown up on wonderbread, I really like plain white bread toast. However, I don't eat it anymore. And, home made bread is really pretty easy to make, and makes you feel pretty smug and self sufficient.

Even as a kid, I hated white bread. When my mom would by "Roman Meal" it was a special treat.
I only eat it now with hotdogs.

I think the white bread soaks up the butter better than the wheat does.
I have a bread machine that I use for mixing and the forst rising, then I switch to glass pans. I do the second rise out of the machine, and bake it in the oven. I don't like the big square size the machine makes...
