They told the reporter that their gravy was not record sales but touring. This will hurt them more than the record company.
Exactly. It depends on what type of arrangement they have with the concert promoters. But I would expect that this time there's a minimum guarantee plus a revenue share with the promoters. Which means they're going make much less money than they did on the last tour. And expect some cancellations of some of their Red State dates (ie. Omaha) because of "illness" rather than "poor ticket sales".

And expect some cancellations of some of their Red State dates (ie. Omaha) because of "illness" rather than "poor ticket sales". ....they're traveling with their kids... that's what they'll use...
we were doing great but "the kids just can't take the road and we need to think of our chillerin."
So they'll bag the concerts that are slumping, regroup into more "progressive" and "intimate" venues (smaller)...like the local bowling alley or "choke and puke eatery". Cause that's what the chicks really, really want... they don't want the guys and gals with George Strait, Toby Keith, Reba, or those types on the CD changer....they want the audience that "gets it"..doncha know?bwahahahahahaha...
this is too funny.

They sued Sony before the diherrea of mouth incident. When their contract came up for renewal, Sony put in a clause that required them to pay back ALL promotional costs before getting their 20% of sales royalty. They can boast about their "manufactured" #1 all they like. Fact remains, they haven't even made enough to pay back the millions their label has spent in promoting them. Sony has stated in the past that they have spent more money promoting the chicks then they have any other artist in that labels history. They have had the best career money could buy up until now.
Sony, however, does not make one red cent off of tours, hence them not paying one red cent to promote it.
