Not to diminish any of the other issues, how many people were voting for "immigration reform" in 2004?????
Judges (Conservative/Constructionist) are VERY important. However, won't you concede that the Illegal Alien issue is AS important?
After all, if we end up with the Bush/Senate version, what kind of country will we have (If at all) in 20 - 30 years from now?
Furthermore, what to say its all or one or the other? WHY NOT BOTH? Or all three (reducing the size of gov't)? Or, 4 (cutting spending)? etc.
You know, none of this is a "Zero sum Game!"
The people spoke their wishes in California a few years back. What was it Prop 19 or something. Who shot down the people on that?
I do believe it was Judges.
I don't think we'll get this Bill. I think it was a "jerk the wool over the eyes" type of thing. They don't want the Bill, only the appearance of looking like they're doing something about it.
That doesn't mean I don't think the existing laws shouldn't be enforced, but as I said, I have little confidence in the present Judicial system to do the right thing either.
