After relentless pressure from rival candidates for attorney general, Andrew M. Cuomo released 14 years of personal tax returns yesterday that showed substantial gains in his income in the recent past.
During this year's campaign, some of Mr. Cuomo's rivals have called on him to release a list of his law clients in addition to his tax returns. But his campaign said yesterday that Mr. Cuomo, who was a housing secretary in President Clinton's administration, had not practiced law in recent years, and therefore had no clients.
The tax records show that Mr. Cuomo's earnings jumped significantly in the tax year 2004, as a result of his work for Island Capital Group LLC, a real estate company. His earnings rose from about $289,000 in 2003 to $819,000 in the 2005 tax year.
Before that, Mr. Cuomo worked for the law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and also received income from speaking engagements and from the sale of his book, "Crossroads: The Future of American Politics."
Mr. Cuomo's tax information has been a recurring issue in the campaign for attorney general. Just a few months ago, two of his Democratic rivals, Assemblyman Richard L. Brodsky and Mark Green, called on Mr. Cuomo to release 10 years' worth of tax information and a list of his law clients. At the time, Mr. Brodsky said that he and Mr. Cuomo had agreed to release their tax information.

Candidates for attorney general are not required to disclose lists of their legal clients. But anyone who wins more than 50 percent of the delegates' votes at the party's political convention is required to file disclosure forms with the State Ethics Commission detailing income and sources of employment. Mr. Cuomo received 67 percent of the votes...

Island Capital Group LLC, a New York-based real estate firm, plans to transform existing marinas and build new ones around the world that will encompass state-of-the-art docking for mega-yachts, smaller cruise ships and other craft, as well as upscale shopping, dining, hotel and recreational facilities. The intent is to create lifestyle destinations that draw the rich, the super rich, and the aspirational, from land or sea.

I thought Mark Green holed himself up in a cave, blocked the opening, and curled himself into a fetal position after losing his race for Mayor of NYC - a race he pretty much campaigned for during most of the previous six years, and a race he should have won.
What a colossal loser - Mark Green: that kid in class who keeps running for student body offices but never comes close to winning!
