I am certain that US citizens will rest much easier knowing that the Achmed that comes from Canada paid the proper duty fee, as opposed to the Mohammad that paid the coyote. If it is, I guess you missed the article entirely; and you missed the fact Canadians are serving in harms way in Afghanistan.
You must have missed the hospitality shown grounded airline passengers on 9/11/2001 when they could and did help.
The US and Canada share perhaps the closest histories and closest family relations, of any countries. We are always allies, in real times of peril.
Finally you must have also missed recent Canadian elections, when they elected a Conservative government.
