I did not read the whole article, but I'll read it later. I will say, though, that while I was volunteering out the Supervisor of Elections in Jacksonville, FL in November 2004 all I saw was:
Kerry thugs trying to tell us (BC-04 supporters) to get lost, to the extent of near-physical showdowns. Favorite quote, "Get outta here wit yo Bush*t!"
Attorneys from the NAACP who showed up to "document disenfranchisement," and if you can imagine them leaving quietly, they did. They did not find what they had HOPED for.
Corrine Brown was out there, amongst the voters, then got so close to the entrance of the polling place she might as well have gone in...maybe she did, I got bombarded and can't recall now. Volunteers had handed out "Corrine's Picks" so that voters, who they obviously think need to be spoon-fed, could vote her way. Her mere presence/talking danced close to that line of campaigning inside that boundary where no campaigning could occur.
Bottom line: The ONLY people who got disenfranchised or cheated at the polls at the Jacksonville Supervisor of Elections were Bush supporters. It was so bad that Bush-voters felt the need to whisper their appreciation for our presence with one lady even telling me when I offered her a bumper sticker, "If I put that thing on my car, my bumper would be trashed by tomorrow." And she was right.
As I recall, Michael Moore had dispatched camera crews all over the place to document the "disenfranchisement." Haven't heard much about that since.
