But .. the dems mistakenly believe that if they can get us to surrender and bring the troops home NOW - that it will somehow catapult them back into power.
I just don't see the logic of that ......??

I see all the logic in that. If we retreat as a nation, they will inherit this discredited, vilified country. That to them is far better than a bit part in strong country.
