To: potlatch

Don't laugh - I saw those pointed onion dome arches all over Uzbekistan (deployed 2003-04), a not very Islamicised country, for now. The arches are still spooky to look at. As we drove past a mosque in the Uzbek steppes, I asked our interpreter if he worshipped every week. In uncanny English he replied, "I used to, but I don't believe in that s#$t anymore!"

We infidels felt safe, for the time being.
