Yep, safeties are on even in a war zone if you're inside a vehicle.

On an M-16 I did it by keeping my thumb on the safety and my trigger finger alongside the trigger guard.

As you move your finger towards the trigger, your thumb sweeps the safety into the firing position.

still this sounds like an excuse to me, a justification. Adrenaline makes me able to do things longer without feeling tired..it doesn't make me do irrational things.
