Snow: Flow of illegals not an 'invasion'
Spokesman says Article 4 of Constitution doesn't apply to border issue
Saying Mexico is "not the enemy," presidential press secretary Tony Snow today rejected the characterization of the constant flow of illegal aliens over the U.S. border as an "invasion."
At today's White House press briefing, WND asked the spokesman: "Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution says, 'The United States shall guarantee to every state in the Union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them from foreign invasion.' My question is, does the president believe this foreign invasion means only armed invasion, or doesn't this also mean the invasion of millions of illegal immigrants?"
Responded Snow: "I think what you are doing is you're attaching a martial connotation to something that does not have martial consequences. …
"What the president has said – if you were talking about an invasion, he's made it clear that Mexico is not the enemy."
WND also asked Snow about a lawsuit by war veteran Sgt. Peter Damon, who lost both of his arms in Iraq. Damon has sued Michael Moore for using clips without his permission in "Fahrenheit 9/11" to give the false impression that he opposed the war.
"I didn't lose my arms over there to come back and be used as ammunition against my commander in chief," Damon was quoted as saying.
"If he is asked," queried WND, "will this commander in chief be willing to testify in court on behalf of this double amputee sergeant?"
Snow called it a "hypothetical question"
"Please don't put me in the position of trying to answer to a lawsuit between somebody who served his country and Michael Moore," Snow said. "We'll let them deal with it."
I never had your thoughts beyond the sea. He was Governor of my state and I know that he stands rigid and stubbornly on what he believes, right or wrong.
He will probably learn to parse his statements in a more congenial way but they will mean the same thing.
Many here have stated that his views matched the Presidents before he took the job. Since I am not a radio listener I am not that familiar with his opinions.
Yes they are lawbreakers, and I sure hope they never get a chance to vote because of it. They break the law mostly because they are desperate and if we hang out the goodies (jobs, free healthcare, free education for their kids) to desperate people they will come. And that draw has overwhelmed our feeble enforcment of the border and immigration laws. And of course we also get the rapist and criminals too as a bonus.
We have sent a dual message to desperate people for decades. Dont come, but come.
I just hope its not too late to finally stop the bleeding at the border. At this point, that is all I care about. Just fix the border.
I was not saying anything bad about PA folks.LOL If you had a problem on your doorstep in PA, I would be the last to tell you that you are wrong about it. I would just assume you would know more about it than I could from this far away. I would want to hear what you know about it and what you think the solutions should be. I might agree with you or not in the end, but I would sure want to hear from you and would not treat you like an idiot or racist or whatever.
It is obvious that some of these posters get all their info from the media and politicians. They know from past experience that both media and politicians can't be trusted, yet they believe them over those of us that live here. I am just getting tired of humoring them.
Most of the illegals that get caught here tell BP they were headed for Phoenix, or Colorado. Usually their friend the coyote has told them Phx is just 10 miles from here (it's more like 200+ miles) this is a crossroads where coyotes like to drop them off.
Maybe you have some hope- maybe the word is out that LA is full.
I used to like Tony Snow, but, because of the tone of his voice, I'd have a hard time listening. Of course he has to project the President's policies. Tony Snow doesn't hear us, so it doesn't really matter. But, the MSM vulture aren't as forgiving, and he does hear them. Scott McClellan started on a good footing with them, and little by little, the abusive confrontations came about. If history repeats itself, in a matter of time, White House briefings will become cage fighting again...with Snow being constantly challenged. Remember, vultures feed off the dead, and that's always been the main course of fast food for the MSM.
I did too, but stopped liking him much over the past couple years. And when he became a puppet over the past few weeks, well, I have lost all respect.
We shall see.

Second, when did you get the ability to channel the spirits of dead guys from the 18th Century? I mean, I'm sure they wouldn't be happy with the current situation anyway, but when someone says they're disgusted, present tense, in all caps, that indicates recent contact...
They only need to get to the nearest "sanctuary city."
Another thing, where are their compassionate advocates when they are stranded in the desert? Where are ANSWER, ACLU, RINOs and Dimmies to give them aid? To my knowledge, the Minutemen and USBP have given more humanitarian aid to stranded illegals than any of their so-called "friends."

The illegals caused this problem. By breaking OUR laws and not staying in their own country to rectify THEIR own country's problems and corruption, for years.
U.S. employers encouraged the problem by illegally hiring illegals.
U.S. govt. encouraged the problem by not enforcing the border, the immigration laws, and jailing the employers who hire the illegals, by playing fish through "catch and release" back into America.
By the way, I guess you are right there ..... I should have written, "The Founding Fathers WOULD BE DISGUSTED and ARE DISRESPECTED."

IF we leave our doors half way open and give out goodies to illegals, EVERY country with desperate immigrants is going to show up.
Chinese, Cuban, Central America.
It is up to US to close the door and take away the freebies. We should have known better. we didnt take action. We are the most repsponsible for the problem.
