"And what shism was there in Africa - Russian and China succeeded in destabilizing the entire continent and ruin any western investment that had been made there in the prior 100 years"

So the logic is if they both contributed to the destabilization of Africa, they couldn't possibly be rivals ?

Again, read from the answers.com article:

"In the 1970s, Sino-Soviet rivalry also spread to Africa and the Middle East, where each Communist power supported and funded different parties, movements, and states. This helped fuel the war between Ethiopia and Somalia, the civil wars in Zimbabwe, Angola and Mozambique, and the rivalry between various groups of radical Palestinians. Unlike the Soviets, the Chinese did not actually send troops to any of these trouble spots, but their competitive intervention helped create and maintain instability."

Why would USSR and China worked against each other in Africa for a number of years ? To fool anyone ? Isn't it too expensive and risky to fool somebody else ? Anyway, your conspiracy theories you take at a face value don't withstand a serious scrutiny.

The stated goal of comintern was to foment revolution - I would imagine that Russia and China sold alot of munitions to the African rebels they spawned.

Africa is very rich in natural resources - but instability keeps it in the ground. These were major sources of raw materials for the west - now when a Nigerian oil field is under attack, Gazprom gets another customer.

Here is the info on Comintern

http://www.answers.com/Comintern

"An association of Communist parties of the world, established in 1919 by Lenin and dissolved in 1943."

The Sino-Soviet split (or "conspiracy" according to your theory) publicly surfaced way after 1943. Also, quite a few leading members of Comintern, like Trotsky or Zinoviev were murdered by Stalin. In other words, the members of Comintern were as much danger to each other as they were to the Western World.

"7. The split justifies a repolarization of the world struggle along specious and phoney lines, i.e , 'The basic conflict is not between the U.S. and Russia, nor ever between the U.S. and China. It is between Soviet Communism and Chinese Communism." [Disinformation.]"

"8. The Sino-Soviet split has been used to justify a weakening of NATO, i e., "it may have outlived its usefulness." [The central push is now for former Soviet Union countries to come into new groupings in the move toward a "comprehensive" security system.]"

Now allow me to examine this conspiracy theory thesises in detail using some logic. If Sino-Soviet split was a "deception" and "disinformation", then this alleged conspiracy:

1. Had been going on for almost 30 years undetected by CIA, MI-6 and a number of other Western Intelligence agencies and officials such as Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, etc.

2. Looked way too real, involving mobilization of hundreds of thousands of the Soviet and Chinese troops along Soviet-Chinese border in late 1960's, border skirmishes of 1969 that claimed lives of hundreds of Soviet and Chinese soldiers, putting the nuclear weapons of USSR and China in a high state of alert. What I know is when you put nuclear weapons on a high state alert, you increase the risk of accidental nuclear exchange. Way too risky (and too expensive) for mere deception.

3. It involved financing by USSR and China a variety of rival factions in Africa and Asia and Latin America from 1960's to late 1980's.

For instance, during Angola Civil war, China (alongside US) supported UNITA, while Soviet Union supported pro-Soviet regime of Dos Santos.

http://www.raceandhistory.com/cgi-bin/forum/webbbs_config.pl/noframes/read/534

China supported United States and Pakistan in aiding Afghanistan anti-Soviet Islamic insurgency during Soviet-Afghan war.

China supported Nicaraguan Contras against pro-Soviet regime of Ortega.

http://prorev.com/treason.htm

Soviet Union officialy was neutral in 1962 Chinese-Indian border War and in reality assisted India militarily against China, including supplying India with Mig 21 Jets.

http://www.country-data.com/cgi-bin/query/r-12690.html

4. USSR-China split "conspiracy" logically had to have a goal of advancing Communism worldwide--not an endless destabilization of Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Instead, USSR-US real rivalry was added by decades of "pretended" USSR-China rivalry that put an additional strain on Soviet economy and populace and contributed to the collapse of the Soviet System and Warsaw Pact.

5. Also how "alleged Sino-Soviet split" "weakened" NATO. How the accession to NATO of former Soviet block countries, such as Poland, Hungary,Czech Republic, Baltic States and now requests by Ukraine and Georgia to join the organization are "weakening" NATO ? Are they all joining NATO to weaken it ? Are they secretly conspiring with Russia to destroy NATO ? Complete nonsense.

6. Overall--if Chinese-Soviet rivalry was a conspiracy to trick the West, it was a conspiracy of fools or madman -:)))

No it hasn't - we are not fooled.

"border skirmishes of 1969 that claimed lives of hundreds of Soviet and Chinese soldiers"

Ha - whats a couple hundred lives to the savage Russians and Chinese - not even a single grain on the beach of Communist genocide (1oo million)

Span--we are going now in circles like in a nut house -:))))

Again--what this Soviet-Chinese rivalry "deception" accomplished except helping to bankrupt and break up one of the co-conspirators (Soviet Union/Warsaw pact) ?

How did this so called "Soviet-Chinese Conspiracy" advanced Communism if USSR and China from 1960 to late 1980's did actually help each other rivals, like China helping Nicaragua Contras or Angola's UNITA--all rivals of the Soviet Union ? Apparently they forgot they were in conspiracy -:))))

How accession to NATO of former Soviet Block Countries and Republics, like Poland, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and possible accession of Ukraine and Georgia are "weakening" NATO ? All of the fmr. Soviet Union/Soviet Block countries who either joined NATO or aspiring to do so are among the most pro-American countries in the continent ? Are they all secretly conspiring to stab America in the back ? -:))))

Overall--this bunch of crackpot conspiracy theories does not withstand any scrutiny. Of course, you are free to believe them, but for me to start believing them, I've got to abandon the sense of logic, reason and reality -:))))

I looked at the google on the source of your post--it's a 1996 article by retired Air Force General Benton K Partin.
He used as the source of his conspiracy theories the former KGB defector Anatoliy Golitsyn book "Perestroika Deception".

http://www.ninehundred.net/~devvy/failure.html

"Complex as it may seem, the Sino-Soviet split dialectic is rather simple and straightforward when compared to the dialectics involved in the U.S. "winning the Cold War," the "disappearance of the Soviet threat," the "disintegration of the Soviet empire," and the "democratization of the former Soviet Union" (now ruled by former communists, ex-communists, non-communists and communists). "

OK-if Perestroika was a deception and the US Winning a Cold War was a bluff, then how the fall of the Berlin Wall, the break up of the Warsaw Pact, the expansion of NATO into former Soviet Block, Polish and other fmr. Soviet block countries supporting the US militarily in Iraq fit into this picture ? If it's all "Deception", for what purpose ? What's the end result of this 'deception' ? How did it help to advance either Soviet or Chinese version of Communism ?

" World Commonwealth of Independent States and Globalization

The Sino-Soviet split has now played a major role in the relative ascendancy of communist world power and a diminution of the free world and its alliances. The communist world goal was to have a World Commonwealth of Independent Socialist States by the year 2000. The "former Soviet Union" now calls itself the Commonwealth of Independent States or CIS. The United Nations is a CIS. A commonwealth is a loose federation. What follows the Commonwealth of Independent States has been in preparation for decades:

1. Global cartels for the production and distribution of goods and services. [Some multinational corporations were established originally for that purpose.]

2. A world socialist division of labor. [Certain production is already being shifted from the U.S.A. in the move toward global "interdependence."]

3. A global security system. [We now have extensive official cooperation among policing and intelligence services between the free world and the communist/former communist world.]

4. A global military system under the UN (in the UN Charter). According to the program, no indigenous forces would be required to go against their own people in a UN police keeping operation. Thus if the French Separatist movement in Canada or the racial tension in the U.S.A. became violent, a UN peace keeping operation would have to use non-indigenous forces. [This is probably the ultimate reason for the large number of foreign troops undergoing UN police action training in the USA.] "

In other words, General Patrin is linking into one grand conspiracy to bring World Socialism all of the Fortune 500 billionnaire CEO's, Clinton and now Bush Administration who support globalism and Free Trade, United Nations, Russia and all of the former USSR/Soviet Block (that should include pro-American Poland, Czech Republic, Baltic States, etc.) So everything is just one giant conspiracy and no other theories are acceptable -:)))

For instance, it can't be power struggle, shifting alliances, mindless short-term pursuit of power and profits over the long-term consequences, and other ages old follies. It can't be that Western World Political and Business leaders are simply driven by faulty ideologies. It must be only one clever giant conspiracy--to bring World Socialism under the guise of the World Capitalism and Free Markets -:))) Sorry--but this conspiracy theory look absurd to me -:))))
