I have family visiting so am not caught up on new details regarding this case. But I have noted (and so have other freepers probably) that:
1) Military officers said they were talking to people in that neighborhood and community for months after the incident and never heard that Marines shot civilians in cold blood. That is in itself suspicious and I wonder if it's a case where people's stories have "evolved" over time.
2) Just yesterday someone pinged me that no autopsies were conducted and the military is trying to get the bodies exhumed. I was stunned. How is it that anyone suspects the Marines killed these civilians in cold blood without ballistics reporting? Are we just going on Iraqi reports?
Good point. The rabid extremists foam at the mouth demanding death at the slightest sniff they feel is offensive. It's hard to believe this 'incident' would be swept under the carpet. If the locals really believed this were a 'massacre' the nearest mosque would be whipping the faithful into a fullblown frenz-fest.
It seems so. Just yesterday it was brought out that motives of the Iraqi reporter and the doctor in Haditha are suspect, they hate Americans.
Muslim practice, like Jewish practice is to get the bodies buried within 24 hours if at all possible. I'm sure they will say that exhuming them would be sacrilegious, although it is allowed for "important" purposes. I'm sure that exonerating (or condemning) a few infidels would not be considered "important".
Peach, there is just SO much about this incident that doesn't make sense..
But of course the MSM, the politicians...and even SOME talk show hosts have seemed to buy into the idea that the FACTS show the Marines did this..
Even though the investigation isn't even done...and no charges have been filed on any of these Marines.
Freeper delacoert is keeping all of the threads about this on his profile page..
I have been hoping the moderator would add this topic to the top of the page with the other frequently sought ones..but so far it hasn't been added.
But, there are dozens of threads by now, I would guess.
Now how bad does a Time reporter have to be not to have noticed that little factoid? And just how bad is an editor who didn't even bother to ask questions before printing a report that besmirched the honor of our Marines?
