What you speak of is CAMPAIGN MONEY, which in turn is supposed to ensure VOTES. Therefore it still comes down to the highest bidder on votes. The question is, does it come from the front end or the back end and it always benefits the POLITICIANS, not the general public. Therefore I am sick to death of self serving politicians and the older I get, the more I realize I am delusional to think that they are any different and/or will ever change.
If all they did was contributed to campaigns, I might agree, but somehow I have a feeling that money is flowing in other channels as well, honorariums for speaking, jobs on boards after retirement, perks...
