That's exactly what I also heard after 9-11. Osama is much closer to the Taliban than than his own family.
Regardless, Carter is still guilty of anything any of us feel like hanging on him. He is the worst president in my 49 year life.

I think it was more of a PR move to insure that the family business didn't suffer because it was being used to fund terrorism. OBL has dozens of siblings, some of them sincerely hate him, but not all.

Yes, supposedly they did. (though who knows how many family members have really gone along with that?)
But the point of bringing up the family's relationship to Carter is this.......Michael Moore used the bin Laden name to demonize the Bush family. Now, there's a connection betwen the bin Laden name and Carter. So, that should demonize Carter too, right? Apparently not.
SO, it's just another example of Moore's lies and hypocrisy.
