The prevailing wage requirement sort of mitigates the "bargain" aspect of the illegals. If the Senate version becomes law, we will still have to import labor if we want people who will be willing to work for sustandard wages.
Holy cow, you're right.
But that means we're DOOMED !!! Lettuce will cost $10.00 a head, strawberries, $5.00 each and a T-Bone steak $55.00!!
That will kill our economy, and - "the small farmer" - so naturally we'll need another 20 million illegals to keep the price of produce down.

"The Senate bill also specifies that illegals will be paid "prevailing wage" that means union wages to you novices."
That would then mean these illegals would have more rights than the average American citizen!! Of course they would anyway, under affirmative action as a minority!! JEEZE?? And can you imagine the multitude of other entitlements?? DADGUMIT!! What are these idiots in congress smoking???
"The Senate bill also specifies that illegals will be paid "prevailing wage" that means union wages to you novices."
The prevailing wage aspect of this law doesnt bother me. If you really think about it you would see that it really creates a disincentive to employers to hire illegals. The whole point of hiring illegals in the first place is cheap labor. If the labor isnt cheap why would you run the legal risk of hiring illegals?
Havign said that. I am totally apposed to the Senates retarded bill.
