If you want the states to appoint the Senators as was intended then that could be done but it's going to take a constitutional change. If and until that happens though 6 years is still way too long of a term imo as this immigration debacle proves. They are acting as elitists who care little for the well being of this country.

I agree. A 4 year term, limited to two or maybe three terms is a good target to hit. This is especially true if we repeal the 17th Amendment. In fact, any repeal of the 17th Amendment would pretty much stipulate term limits if we wanted to avoid abuse.
