I traced it back to the original article in the British Medical Journal and found it here:
Our results indicated that high dose ibuprofen (800 mg three times daily) and high dose diclofenac (75 mg twice daily) were each associated with an increased risk of vascular events ...
That's twice the maximum warning on the label ("Do not excced 6 tablets [200 mg each] in one day") or equal to 12 maximum strength tablets a day.

800 mg, three times a day, is a prescription dose (at least that's what I've been Rx'd after surgery.)

I take that much some days, and other days I take none. All depends on the pain level.

Tylenol will kill your liver, ibuprophen will give you a heart attack...well, you gotta go some way, so why not go out pain-free, LOL.

(800 mg three times daily)

800mg three times a day is what you get prescribed after a minor surgery to take for a week or longer.

Ibuprofen (800mg TID) is a normal prescription dosage for mild to moderate pain. Ibuprofen is safe at dosages of less than 3200mg per day.

The dosage warning is for over-the-counter ibuprofen.

You are supposed to stop taking either aspirin or ibubrofin with sodium diclofenac. It is a big blood thinner along with being an anti-inflammatory. You are responsible for your own stroke.
