1. There is a treasury (=for the money)
2. Because the treasury is not defended (the porous border)
3. They've been told from the youngest age that the treasury was stolen
from them in the 1840s...and rightfully theirs. And theirs alone.
(the story they tell themselves in order to forget that their glorious
country was defeated TWICE by small bands that came up the same road from
