And I am sick of hyphenated Americans. Pick one or the other, not both. If you pick American, I say "Welcome fellow citizen". If you pick the other, I'll help you pack and will contribute to a one-way ticket out of here.

I make this a habit, and hope it will spread.
When we received our last Census form, I was horrified by the questions asked about our heritage. There were so many nationalities listed I was beyond belief. So I took a black marker and crossed them all out and wrote, in big, black letters "AMERICAN". My Dad was born in America, my Mom came legally from Ireland, and my husband came legally from Cuba. We are all very proud to be Americans and love America.
