Politically, the Democrats have a small edge in perceived honesty, but there's not much advantage for either party on this issue. Sixteen percent of Americans think Democrats are generally more ethical and honest than Republicans; nine percent think the opposite. But most by far 72 percent say there isn't much difference between them.
However slight, that seven-point Democratic edge is their best in occasional polls over the last 17 years.

It's pretty sick when the only time anything has bipartisan support there is when one of their imagined perks gets violated.
Both sides are the best of friends and have the utmost respect for each others opinions when things like this happens.

That view is broadly bipartisan, this ABC News poll finds, ranging from 78 percent among Democrats to 94 percent of Republicans. Watch the weasels run for the tall grass after seeing these numbers.
Hey Seinsbrenner(sp) still want to hold hearings........Hahahahahahaha!

We didn't need a poll to tell us this.

The only surprise is ABC willing to print the results. I guess the DNC fax machine is broken.

Well that should end this. Congress doesn't do a thing until it takes a poll. Now that the polls tell them what to do, this "Search" story will go away now.

actually, its the republicans who have put themselves behind the 8 ball on this issue - with comments from Hastert et al, about privilege. The Dems know how to remain silent when they need to be.

All branches agree that it's fine to trample on the people's rights. But let one branch encroach upon another branch, and all hell breaks loose, complete with high-minded references to checks and balances and the Constitution. They jealously guard that which they routinely steal from us.

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.I never can think of Judas Iscariot without losing my temper. To my mind Judas Iscariot was nothing but a low, mean, premature, Congressman.

not our guys, they don't use polls. They march right into the line of fire over issues that have zero public support - like this one, and the Dubai ports fiasco - and take it on the chin for weeks on end before they finally get the message.

don't used car salesmen still poll higher than Congresscritters?

What is it that these people don't understand about this being a NATION OF LAWS. That means we believe in obeying the law, we believe that the law applies to EVERYONE, we believe that laws that are passed should be ENFORCED.

If it were not for the subpoena served on Jefferson in August 2005...I would have a bit of a problem with the FBI search of his office. Given that the subpoena opens up some big questions...I'm siding with the FBI on this one. It does bother me somewhat that the Sergeant at Arms was not present during the search.
