I've never served in the military; however, my father did. He quit med school to join the Army Air Corps in WWII. He lost two brothers in that war, yet he spent thirty more years in the Air Force. He was (and still is) the most honorable man I've ever known. Rep. Murtha is demeaning the military as a whole and the ultimate sacrifice paid by our troops who have given their lives for us. In doing so, he insults my father's memory, undermines our country in a time of war, and deserves none of my respect.

My father's unit was involved in a controversial incident during WWII. The Japanese had deliberately stationed anti-aircraft guns near a hospital. We took the guns out and there was an accusation that the hospital had been targeted.
Dad is 85 now and bitter about Murtha, whose district is not far from his home.
