I don't see a problem with this.
I prefer people doing this than having abortions.

I've got news for her; Her son doesn't have a "father".
He has a "sperm donor" and that's all that anonymous male will ever be.

Some European countries have banned donor insemination of single women and the anonymous donation of sperm and eggs. And we ought to be doing exactly the same thing here. I say to Chuck Colson exactly what I say to Michael Moore -- if you think Europe is so much better than the United States of America, MOVE THERE ALREADY, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I read the article and I don't see anything scary. Certianly nothing so worrisome that we should follow the direction of Europe's socialist utopias. There is an undercurrent of class warfare in the article.

Some European countries have banned donor insemination of single women and the anonymous donation of sperm and eggs. And we ought to be doing exactly the same thing here. I'm all for constraining fertility services to married women, but considering Europe's birthrate, I'm not so sure the latter is a good idea. For some happily-married women, egg donation is their only hope of having a baby at all. There are two usual reasons, by far the most common of which is age. IMO there should be an age limit for any fertility services as well as a limit to the number of eggs from a single donor. Here in California, my wife (an infertility nurse) is seeing women in their 50s!
As to adoption, my guess is that the bulk in Europe are Arab kids, for which an indigenous family may be at considerable future risk.

In a world where new "human rights" are discovered every day, what about a child's right to be born of a mother and a father?

Confession.....when I found out my Sister In Law had decided to have another child (after her 2nd divorce was final) through this means.....I cried. I told my MIL that she was denying the child a father, something I felt very strongly about. The child now is 19, a lost bimbo, and her mother has been married and divorced again.
It's nice that children are wanted.....but, when they are as accessories or toys, then I find it abhorrent. I think they have since banned the practice of fertilizing single/divorced women in the State where this took place, thankfully.

And then imagine the child of that transactionone who finds out that Dad sold his genetic material to a total stranger because she was the highest bidder. Oh no! ... My parents loved me so much they were willing to pay more for me than anyone else! I am *SO* heartbroken!

Natural Selection in the 21st century...
To: Mr. Silverback
What were witnessing is the triumph of genetic reductionism, which treats people as little more than the product of their DNA. Actually, what we are witnessing is nature occurring at highly technical level.
In nature, the female always looks to mate with the best possible male to insure healthy successful offspring. Society places restrictions on this instinctive search through institutions like religion and marriage. Fertilization allows the female to bypass societal norms and support their primeval instincts to improve the herd.

You have to wonder: How long will it be before the most popular donor fathers and egg mothers decide to cut out the middleman and sell their products on Ebay? What I have to wonder is, when will one of thse psychos sue for "child support" or because she didn't get what she thought she was getting.
