The yahoos revolt, and bigots vanish

The House and the Senate are no closer to agreement on immigration reform, but maybe we're making incremental progress on getting a little civility in the debate. Only a few days ago, anyone who wanted the president to enforce the law protecting the nation's borders was "a racist," "a bigot" or a "nativist." The president himself has sometimes thrown the word "nativist" around in the debate over immigration and, before that, in the controversy over outsourcing the security of the nation's ports to suspicious former enemies. "Nativist," like "Hitler," is the slur of the season when you're losing the argument. The president has become more compassionate, having decided that the nativists are merely misguided conservatives in what was once his base.

I'm a nativist who believes our laws should be applied equally.

It sucks that the law discriminates against those who break it.

"..."a racist," "a bigot" or a "nativist.""? WTH?
I'm an American who demands that our existing laws be applied and enforced, and who screams that we don't need anymore BS crap from the criminal, corrupt, seditionist, treasonous US Congress.

Well since he includes the lie, all ready exposed as a lie, about "Out sourcing Port Security" he is a Political Bigot. A Bigot is one so welded to their own opinions they simply refuse to grant any legitimacy to any other point of view.
Quit being a bigot Wes P and we will stop calling you one.

Unfortunately, the president isn't the main problem here; otherwise it would be Harriet Miers all over again.

Screaming a lie over and over does not magically turn it into a fact. If WP want to pose as this great moralizer chasitgating the evil ones for flaming him, he should at LEAST try to be intellectually honest. This is a "Do as I say, not as a do" rant. Apprenly Name calling is wrong but LYING is just fine in WP's world.
Simple rule, DON'T shoot at people if you are not ready for them to shoot back. WP is just upset because people don't role over and play dead for him. Too bad

I got a kick out of that new poll down on the right side of the page, putting Tancredo against Hillary. That's too easy, you guys, give us a tough choice, like Charles Manson against Hillary.
OR, these Hillary opponets:
Lincoln Chaffee
Arlen Spector
Chuck Hagel
I mean, at least make it interesting...

amnesty... Interesting word.
And I thought Klintoon was the only one who played the "Depends what you mean by..." game.

Wes Pruden has nailed the condescending, elitist attitude coming from the administration and our RINO overlords in the Senate on this issue.
Voters are such a nuisance sometimes.
