All tax exempt organizations, in my opinion, should open their books to examination. Any agenda would be easier to detect.
Exactly. And churches which preach politics from the pew should loose that tax free status and be taxed as a PAC.
Churches are not merely tax exempt organizations. They enjoy a greater level of constitutional protect under the 1st Amendment. For example, they do not have to file the tax returns other 501(c)(3) organizations have to file nor ask the IRS for recognition as a exempt organization.
