I agree. Pence would be excellent. Well-spoken, photogenic, very conservative, and ethical.
Of course, those traits would probably keep him from getting the votes.

Miss M...I think we're seeing the beginnings of a revolt. The conservative caucus in the House may not quite yet have the votes to elect Pence as Speaker, but in a 3 way race they can dictate who will be..The way the whip's race played out...basically they cut the legs off of Blount..he's been neutered..so perhaps they supported Boehner (sp?) for majority leader in return for a promise to support Pence for Speaker..
