I will support a path to citizenship for illegals currently in the country, contingent of the following factors:
1. Good conduct and a clean arrest record are required.
2. English proficiency and knowledge of US Civics are required.
3. Citizenship rights (i.e. voting, entitlements, Social Security) are not granted before citizenship.
4. Identity theft and tax fraud are permenant disqualifiers for citizenship.
But none of this makes a lick of sense unless the border is first secured and a regularized guest worker program is put in place to deal with new arrivals. And by "secured", I mean secured. A real wall with real agents with real guns. No "virtual" wall, no penetrable impediments. The goal should be zero illegal crossings.
I don't agree with King on everything, but he's not a RINO. I still don't understand his uncritical support, bordering on devotion, to IRA terrorists.
