I knew this soldier when he was assigned to A Company, 10th Group. He was a hard charger that was only cowed by the female Russian language instructor we had at the Foreign Language Training Center in Garmisch.

It's good to know that soldiers of his caliber are still on the line.

I worked in the refugee camps in Thailand during 1979-1980, helping to interview and resettle refugees. Who knows? Maybe he was one of those poor souls that I happened to interview. I have a Cambodian buddy here whose family was similarly decimated. He was so proud when my son became a Marine, and welcomed him into the brotherhood of soldiers.
