Texas FReeper, the purpose of this thread is to help plan activities(such as a FReeper Dinner) for the June 2-3, 2006 Texas State Republican Convention. If you have suggestions for an eating place or a particular time, please post them here.
Please feel free to post endorsements for various party candidates or positions on Party Rules or the Platform.
We are late in getting started, so let's get things going. Even if you don't have any suggestions, please let us know if you are attending.
Let us know if you need a room.
I'll be there, and not going to the very expensive dinner so might be available Friday nite.
OK. I'll collect cell phones if you freep mail them to me.
Also, we can leave a message at the Republican Liberty Caucus booth - as to what we're up to. What you all think?
Does anyone know if the platform is going to recognize the efforts of the Minutemen volunteers?
The Convention Center is at 200 E Market St, San Antonio, TX.
The somewhat indirect driving route seems to be about a mile, so it should take less than 15 minutes to walk there(about 0.5-0.7 miles). We will be driving, so we can take a few folks.
Anyone up for this?
Thanks for the suggestion, rock58seg.
Considering that we don't know what changes the platform committee will present to the convention before Saturday, this question is impossible to answer.
IMHO, such a statement is not appropriate for inclusion in the platform since it does not state a position on an issue, and if we give one atta-boy in the platform, we've got to be ready to vote on 300 other atta-boy statements other people want.
OK, let's make it 6:15PM at Spaghetti Warehouse or gather at 6PM at the Convention Center entrance on Market St. to carpool or walk.
The photos that I took at the Republican Party of Texas State Convention in San Antonio can be found at the Republican Party of Galveston County web site at:

You can order prints or other merchandise with any of the photos by going to the link below.

You can always download the photos from the Party's web site, but the photos available on Digibug.com are the highest resolution suitable for the best prints.
