If you believe in the ends, you're not gonna have as much problem with the means as those who don't believe in the ends. It's that simple.
For all the angst one can conjure over Dresden or Nagasaki, it means nothing to the overall outcome if you agree with that outcome. Same in Korea. Same at My Lai. Same in Iraq. This is not to say that these Marines were not justified. I'm speaking of those who assume differently: they do it because they're trying to invalidate the War itself. Nothing more, nothing less.
that is a reasonable historical perspective. But I assume most support the prosecution of gross malfeasance, if it occurs. I don't think it did, at least not the way its being portrayed.
