REALLY??? Hmmmmm, I wonder where I spend those two tours of three months at time!!???!? Maybe near where they filmed the REAL moon landing..................

Hum..Things must have changed since the days I was out there. When we were out there (mid 80s) the Big E always stayed out in the IO. There were cruisers, auxiliaries and the like in the Gulf, but the Big E never entered the gulf (at least that was what I was told by the Engineering Officer).

Yeah things have changed. The carriers operating in that area now truly do transit the Straits of Hormuz and head on in. A somewhat more risky venture given the recent Iranian president's rantings.
